Wrist Pain
A sore wrist makes typing, lifting, and pushing up from a chair harder than they should be. We check the joints of the wrist, the forearm, and how the hand shares load.

Wrist complaints at Savanna Taradale Wellness Centre range from a fall on an outstretched hand to gradual strain from desks, trades, and training. Some people arrive after a cast comes off and the wrist still feels weak or stiff. Others have numbness that needs a nerve screen as well as joint care.
This page explains common patterns we see in clinic. It is not a diagnosis. An in-person assessment tells us what is driving your symptoms and which treatment fits.
What it can feel like
- Pain with pushing, twisting lids, or yoga planks
- Clicking, catching, or a feeling of giving way
- Swelling or stiffness after a sprain
- Grip weakness or dropping objects
- Tingling into the fingers
Why it happens
- Sprain after a fall or sport impact
- Repetitive mouse, phone, and tool use
- Stiffness after immobilization or fracture healing
- Tendon irritation along the thumb or wrist (including De Quervain’s pattern)
How we treat it
We restore motion that is stuck, protect irritable structures while they calm, and then rebuild grip and weight-bearing so the wrist trusts load again.
-
Protect and settle
Taping, activity changes, and gentle joint work reduce the daily grind of a sprain or overuse flare.
-
Restore motion
Targeted mobility returns extension and rotation you need to push, type, and lift.
-
Rebuild grip
Strength and proprioception work make the wrist stable for sport, work, and weight-bearing.
Services that may be part of your plan
Condition care is not a single modality. Your assessment may include one or more of these services.
Common questions
When is wrist pain an emergency?
Seek urgent care for obvious deformity, loss of circulation, or an injury you cannot move after a fall. We treat sprains and overuse once serious injury is ruled out.
Can you help after a cast comes off?
Yes. Stiffness and weakness after immobilization are common. We restore motion and strength in stages.
